Autumn

I love fall because of the moderate temperatures and the changing of colours. Here are some of what I captured – old and new. The first few locations are taken in Hamilton and it is known as the Waterfall Capital of the World. While I’ve only been to a handful, I hope to see more in the next few weeks while the weather is great. Many of these trails are located along the Bruce Trail which run about 900km from the Niagara Escarpment to Tobermory.

Delicious Crepes

It’s no secret I’m a foodie. My guilty pleasures are things like black forest cake and chocolate. Although I’ve been pretty good with keeping my weight down for most of 2011, I broke down when I went on a cruise at the end of the year and it went downhill from there. It’s hard to keep a gym membership without a permanent job and walking just doesn’t cut it.

People are surprised that I have been told by the doctor to improve my diet and lose ten pounds (probably slightly more now) given my size. You see…I’m 4’10”. Every pound counts and will likely show for someone of my height. I hide it well for those who know me. My high school phys ed teacher and nurse at my first job provided me info on the ideal weight for my height.

Today, I was supposed to see the doctor for an annual check up and blood test. I’m supposed to fast for at least 12 hours before the blood test. For some reason, that didn’t work out. I mixed up the appointment (although, I was pretty sure I wrote down the date ten minutes after the secretary called me a week earlier.) Even if weren’t for the mixed up dates, my health card expired. During this whole frustration of spending half a day trying to find a location to update my card, I stopped by Our Crepe.

What a great place. I ordered #53 on the menu – breakfast item that included two eggs, cheese, and ham – plus coffee. The staff is friendly. They informed me that there is free wifi access and delivered the food to my table. The food itself was nicely presented, and most importantly, it tasted great. It wasn’t too greasy, it came with cream cheese and small slices of fruit and the cheese made it all blend together great. I have an affinity for small things. The cream cheese in a bowl with the tiny spoon is awesome. Although a bit pricey, it is a good alternative to the Mcdonald’s nearby. Visit http://www.ourcrepe.ca.

With this post, I’ve also included some photos from New Year’s also. All photos were taken with my iPHone 4s. Although not new to the market, I just recently got it. It has its perks. It has its limitations. I’ll just say this, it got me to the place where I needed to update my health card but it took an hour to get the info and something about one of the apps that kept directing me to Go train services when I could use Mississauga transit. Some of the photos that I sent to one of my alternate emails also took quite a long time to arrive.
